Our wedding and events venue Valleyside Barn has received a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Barn/Country Venue category at the 2024 South West Wedding Awards. Valleyside Barn was one of eight amazing finalists and it is the first wedding awards that we have entered! We are so happy to have brought home an award and can now add it to our collection of glamping awards! This is an incredible achievement especially as this is just our third season of weddings and we only host a select number of weddings each year.

Businesses could enter from across seven counties – Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire. The awards recognise businesses which exceed the expectations for their customers, providing outstanding service and inspire their customers to want to actively and positively promote them.

In order to be selected as a finalist couples that have used the service, in our case got married or held their wedding reception at Valleyside Barn, have to vote for you. It is not just a simple tick box and submit exercise either they are required to provide comments on why they think you should be considered. These submissions are then scrutinised by an expert panel of judges who then decide a winner and in some categories a ‘highly commended’ award when the scores are so close.

We are so happy to have achieved this recognition – we definitely need a bigger trophy cabinet now!
